Virtual Laboratory
The simulation program is based on the Nobel Prize winning Hodgkin-Huxley model for excitation of the squid axon. The program simulates an excised squid axon by applying stimuli or clamps after setting the environment of the axon, changing its properties, and/or adding drugs or toxins.
By using the program tools, experiments can be developed that explore a variety of nerve properties, ranging from classical phenomena such as threshold, summation, refractory period, and impulse propagation to mo

Photoelectric Effect Virtual Lab
The Photoelectric Effect Virtual Lab was designed with the intent that students and teachers might explore one of the most important, non-classical, behaviors of light - the photoelectric effect. The ability of light, under the right conditions, to liberate electrons from the surface of metals, was one of the most profound mysteries of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In this Virtual Lab, students will graphically explore the behavior of light with metals.

The Virtual Genetics Lab
The Virtual Genetics Lab (VGL) is a simulation of transmission genetics that approximates, as closely as possible, the hypothesis-testing environment of genetics research. In this lab, students cross hypothetical creatures and examine the progeny in order to determine the mechanism of inheritance of a particular trait. As in actual research, it is not possible to 'see the answer' - the student must decide for herself when she has collected enough data to be sure of her model. The goal is to have
St. Louis Virtual City Project
Welcome to the St. Louis Virtual City Project. This Regional History Project utilizes interactive web technologies to explore the history of the City of St. Louis and the St. Louis region. Virtual yeast cell
This rich learning object is used to introduce yeast cytology to students taking Module D24BS3 Brewery Yeast Management as part of the MSc in Brewing Science. The virtual cell permits the students to understand structure and function of yeast organelles.
Virtual field trip
An interactive map containing computer generated 3D views of the Bowscale and Bannerdale area overlain with geology, and also alternative map data layers for the two study site is available via the 'Virtual Tour' icon on the computer desktops.
