This is a clip from Edison, The Man with Spencer Tracy as Thomas A. Edison. This is the part when Thomas Edison (Spencer Tracy) invents the tinfoil phonograph. This lesson is best used as a brief view into Edison. There is little meat here, but his comment about an invention versus an accident is a good way to get student debate started. It should be noted that Edison was the first person to see the advantage of having videos in the classroom.
