Biography
Helen is the Director of Initial Teacher Education.
She graduated with a first class honours degree in combined science from Nottingham Trent University where she also undertook her PGCE.
She has worked in North Notts schools as a Key Stage 3 Coordinator for science and has been involved in mentoring PGCE students throughout her career. She was a founder member of the schools IQEA (Improving the Quality of Education for All) cadre which aimed to increase the range of teaching and learning strategies used within schools. She has also been involved in the national pilot on high order thinking skills.
Before taking on the role of Director of ITE, Helen was the course leader for the secondary PGCE. During her time at the university, Helen has taught on numerous ITE programmes e.g. PGCE, GTP, Teach First and GTP. She has also taught on the PGCES programme.
