Biography

Christopher is an Assistant Professor in Property Law at the University of Nottingham. In this role, he holds/has held teaching responsibilities on our Land Law, Trusts Law, Law in Practice, Introduction to Law and Legal Theory and Dissertation modules (acting as module co-convenor in the first case) and he coaches the School of Law team in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He is also a Director of the School Study Abroad program and Co-Chair of the School Teaching and Learning Group, having formerly been its Deputy Director of UG Assessment, Deputy Senior Tutor and Careers Liaison Officer. In addition, he is a member of the University Global Engagement Committee and its Educational Excellence Group. In 2023, he was awarded a University Lord Dearing Award for his 'world-class contribution' to teaching and learning at the University and he was appointed as a Martin-Flynn Global Law Professor at the University of Connecticut.

Christopher has previously achieved a first class LLM from the University of Cambridge and won the Hugh Bevan Prize for gaining the highest mark on the LLM that year at Wolfson College. He also finished second in the world in the International Air and Space Moot Court Competition 2012. In 2011, Christopher completed an LLB in Law with Australian Law at the University of Nottingham (with an exchange year at the University of Queensland). He achieved an upper second class grade in English law and a distinction (equivalent to a first class performance) in Australian law. He won prizes in Constitutional Law in 2009 and in Evidence in 2011 and academic commendations in 2009 and 2010, and was the President of the University Bar Society in 2011 when it was rated the best of its kind by the Bar Council.

Finally, Christopher has previously completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (becoming a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy), a short course in International Human Rights Law at Florida State University (via an IBA scholarship), the Teaching Associates Programme (TAP) run by the University of Cambridge and the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector course (PtLLs).

Christopher is an Assistant Professor in Property Law at the University of Nottingham He holds/has held teaching responsibilities on their Land Law, Trusts Law, Law in Practice, Introduction to Law and Legal Theory and Dissertation modules and he is the Coach of the School of Law team in the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He has previously taught Criminal Law at the University of Cambridge and has also designed, taught and assessed a 10 day Summer School covering 10 different legal topics (including fields such as Constitutional Law, Tort Law, EU Law and Human Rights Law) for groups of sixth form students from around the world who are considering studying Law at University.

In order to ensure that his teaching activities are of the highest possible standard, Christopher has recently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) to become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has previously completed the Teaching Associates Programme run by the University of Cambridge, and the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector course (PtLLs), achieving Level 4 (QCF) standard. In 2023, he was awarded a University Lord Dearing Award to reflect his 'world-class contribution' to teaching and learning at the University and was appointed as a Martin-Flynn Global Law Professor at the University of Connecticut.
