Biography

I am an academic/researcher in Biomedical Sciences (PhD) with a background of Physiology (MPhil) and Medicine (MBBS, MRCPI). My research interests include cardiovascular physiology & pharmacology, interactive teaching and case-based learning. I am currently studying the role of endothelin1 and prostaglandins in the function of arteries. My previous projects included study of the role of perivascular adipose tissue in the function of coronary arteries and investigation of the relationship between thyroid function and metabolic syndrome.

Teaching of Pharmacology/Physiology and Basic Life Support skills to undergraduate and postgraduate students of Pharmacy, Medicine and Allied Health Sciences. Teaching formats include lectures, case-studies, workshops and practicals along with the demonstration of basic emergency care skills using simulations and manikins.
