Biography

Lewis is a doctoral researcher within the School of Politics and International Relations. His research looks at the visual branding strategies of British political parties on social media. He is interested in the question of interpreting political images and the practices of visual rhetoric in politics. He will be looking at how strategies of political branding change over time, how they differ between parties, and how we can assess their success.

Before starting his doctoral studies, Lewis completed an MA in Politics and Contemporary History at the University of Nottingham. His MA dissertation looked at how to interpret the rebranding of an Austrian political party. He also holds a BA in Modern and Medieval Languages from Downing College, Cambridge University, during which he completed a year in industry with a logistics firm in Austria.
