Biography

Pai Kang is a doctoral student in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham (UoN). He completed his undergraduate degree from the University of Sunderland in 2016, and master from the University of Liverpool in 2017. During his postgraduate studies, Pai Kang began to focus on ethical topics that affect corporate interests and image, such as corporate social responsibility (CSR), labor rights. His current research interests are corporate human rights and ethics policies.

Current Research

When discussing the issue of improving human rights in Chinese companies, the amount of literature available is very scarce. The existing resources lack in-depth research on the impact of CSR on labour standards in Chinese companies, and how these effects are reflected in broader human rights issues. This is also a potential academic gap in the field. Therefore, my research will try to fill this gap and propose a research question, 'How Chinese companies implement CSR, and to what extent human rights are integrated. Finally, according to the potential gap, the next section will deduce potential and feasible research hypotheses from existing academic perspectives, which will help me locate the scope of future research data.
