Overview of a listed company's Financial Reporting cycle

Financial Minds

We invite you to hear special guest speaker Philip Deakin, Group Head of Finance at Connect Group plc. Connect Group plc is a specialist distribution business with £1.8b of revenues and a listing on the London Stock Exchange. Philip is responsible for Group Financial Reporting, Group Tax, Group Treasury and Group FP&A. Prior to this role, he had been CFO at Dun & Bradstreet (Benelux). He is a Fellow of the Institute Chartered Accountants and qualified with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Philip will give a practitioners overview on how a listed company prepares and presents its Annual Financial Report to investors and lenders.  It will provide an opportunity to consider some of the current topics in financial reporting, treasury and tax.  There will also be a discussion of the implications of Brexit for the Connect Group Plc.  Main topics discussed during the seminar will include:

  • Typical financial reporting timetable at year end and the key stakeholders involved
  • Preparation of financial statements =>  Audit => Board approval => Prelim announcement
  • Overview of the Annual Financial Report and the key components:

  • Implications of Brexit for Connect Group Plc
