Placements and internships

Looking to gain some work experience? It's a great way to develop your skills, get an insight into what jobs really involve and make contacts for the future. For some jobs and courses, it's imperative that you gain some experience in the workplace.

These events focus on finding out what's on offer, how to apply and make the most of work placements, internships and the optional Placement Year.

Some sessions are targeted at particular courses with other sessions open to all.

  • Pre-Placement Briefing for Engineering students going out in 24/25 - session 1

    Mandatory. All students intending to do a year in industry as part of their course over 2024/2025 must attend. This will be a talk on how to make the most of your placement, the assessment, and your responsibility for Health and Safety.
  • Transitioning into work: Making the most of your Experience

    For any students who have secured a graduate role, placement or internship, this workshop will build your career readiness and confidence for the workplace.
  • Spotlight on Placements for Science students

    For undergraduate students studying Biosciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Maths, Natural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy or Psychology who are interested in completing a placement in 2025/26
