Description

The School of Chemistry is delighted to announce that this year’s Sir Jesse Boot Lecture will be given by Prof. Majed Chergui, Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

The lecture will take place at 4pm in X1, School of Chemistry on Wednesday 22nd November

Ultrafast laser spectroscopy provide a means visualize in chemical processes in real time. Prof. Chergui has pioneered novel ultrafast X-ray and ultraviolet spectroscopic tools, for the study of molecular and biomolecular dynamics. These approaches are widely applicable to understand the dynamics of processes in complex systems of biological and technological interest; examples include studies of photo-induced processes in the molecular condensed phase (liquid, solids and proteins) and in metallic and semiconductor nanostructured materials.

The lecture is open to all in the faculty of science and free to attend. We look forward to seeing you at this event.
