Description

The Access and Communities, Building Enterprise project, presents a series of exciting technology workshops designed to:

  • Expand your technical knowledge & skills
  • Learn about, and experiment with, new technologies to develop business ideas
  • Save your organisation money through new ways of working

The workshops are aimed at social enterprises, businesses with a social focus and eligible third sector organisations in the Nottingham City area.

This particular workshop is all about low budget computing and will cover the following areas:

In this three-hour intensive workshop delegates will learn to understand the basic hardware that organisations typically need, and how to minimise costs for this. Learn how to minimise organisational IT and web costs in the long term, and explore what (safe) free and low-cost software there is available to you.

This workshop is designed to help you consider how to implement mobile low cost computing in an organisation. Then at the end of the workshop you will be able to start to develop a plan of action to implement everything you have learnt.

In addition eligible organisations will be able book a tailor-made 1-1 follow up session to help identify their specific needs in line with their current and future requirements.

The workshop will be delivered via presentation and facilitated group-based discussions by John Mark Owens, an experienced consultant and trainer, who has worked within the IT industry since the 1980's and the web industry since 1997.

The event is strictly registration only, so please contact the event organiser if you wish to attend.
