Description

The Access and Communities, Building Enterprise project, presents a series of exciting technology workshops designed to:

  • Expand your technical knowledge & skills 
  • Learn about, and experiment with, new technologies to develop business ideas 
  • Save your organisation money through new ways of working 

The workshops are aimed at social enterprises, businesses with a social focus and eligible third sector organisations in the Nottingham City area.

This particular workshop is all about developing a website with WordPress and will cover the following areas:

In this three-hour intensive workshop  delegates will learn how to create an effective WordPress website for business applications.Together with social media, mobile devices play an increasing role in the online marketing mix. The focus of this workshop will therefore be on producing a professional-looking website that is compatible with mobile and tablet devices. 

Users will be able to plan, set up and manage a website using the WordPress platform. They will learn how free PlugIns can be used to deliver additional fuctionality and how to tailor the website to their specific needs. 

In addition eligible organisations will be able book a tailor-made 1-1 follow up session to help define a clear digital strategy in line with their current and future requirements.

Your expert for the workshop

Paul Fillingham is an experienced digital producer and founder of Nottingham-based digital agency Thinkamigo. He works closely with the University of Nottingham, Centre for Advanced Study and Mixed Reality Lab and is responsible for leading cultural projects for Arts Council England, Heritage Lottery and Arts Humanities Research Council.
