The SAGE project, coordinated by Dr Per Kristian Lehre from the ASAP research group, brings together two research fields that study evolution -- population genetics and evolutionary computation -- with the goal of developing a theory that explains how quickly complex adaptations can evolve.
Speed of Adaptation in Population Genetics and Evolutionary Computation (SAGE) is a collaboration between researchers from The University of Nottingham, The University of Sheffield, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena and IST Austria, and has been awarded €2m by the European Union to carry out its research. Dr Duc-Cuong Dang has been appointed to the project in Nottingham as a Research Fellow.
