Screens in the Wild

Three public, digital screens are now live at New Art Exchange (Nottingham), Broadway Media Centre (Nottingham) and Leytonstone Library (London). The screens show networked, interactive experiences that allow people to draw together, make music together and share images across different locations. The project is actively looking for community feedback and input to shape future content to be deployed in the next few months.

Screens in the Wild is a collaborative research project initiated by researchers from the Space Group at University College London (Ava Fatah & Alan Penn) and the Mixed Reality Lab at University of Nottingham (Holger Schnädelbach). It investigates how media screens located in urban space can be designed to benefit public life, rather than merely transmit commercial content. Screens in the Wild is funded by Research Councils UK through the Digital Economy Programme. More information is available at http://www.screensinthewild.org.
