Current Research
Dr Damian Eke is a Philosopher working at the intersection of Technology, Data and the society. His research interestes cover critical research on Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), Ethics and governance of Emerging Technologies (especially AI and Neurotechnology), Data Ethics and governance, Neuroethics, Decoloniality in Emerging Technologies, and ICT4D. Currently he is a PI and CoI in a number of funded projects including;

He is also a member of the core research team of the RAI-UK project working on decoloniality as an essential principle of trustworthy AI.
He is currently the Chair of the International Brain Initiative's Working Group on Data Sharing and Standards.
Past Research
Dr Eke has extensive experience in international research collaborations. For a number of years, he was the Data Governance Coordinator for the EU Human Brain Project (HBP) and EBRAINS where he developed and maintained a responsible data governance framework. His previous research also covers extensive research on data governance in African contexts and Responsible AI in Africa. His co-edited book titled Responsible AI in Africa: Challenges and opportunities is a valuable contribution to the emerging field of responsible innovation in Africa.
