The Centre for Research into Ideas and the Study of Political Ideologies (CRISPI) is the leading centre for the study of ideas and ideologies worldwide.

CRISPI is building a unique ‘brand’ for political theory at the University of Nottingham: understanding political theory ‘in the vernacular’.

The centre's research activity is organised around three workstreams:

  • The Study of Political Ideologies
  • The History of Politcal Thought
  • Contemporary Political History

The centre collaborates with colleagues working on political ideas in the Departments of History and Philosophy and in the university's research beacons
