CRISPI Announce New Future of Ideologies Speaker Series


The Centre for Research into Ideas and the Study of Political Ideologies (CRISPI) is delighted to announce the return of the Future of Ideologies speaker series, hosted in collaboration with the Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right (CARR). 

The series will be hosted every Wednesday, starting from 1 February. More details to follow but please see an overview of events: 

  • 1 February: Mathew Humphrey, (University of Nottingham) - ‘Studying Ideology at the Micro-level: MOOC Users and Riders’ Rights Activists’
  • 8 February: Udit Bhatia (University of York) - ‘The Pedagogical Account of Parliamentarism at India's Founding’
  • 15 February: Vittorio Bufacchi (University College Cork)  - hybrid session in conjunction with the Contemporary Political Philosophy strand of CRISPI)-  ‘Structural Injustice and Liberalism: When the Solution becomes the Problem’. 
  • 22 February: Juliette Faure (Science Po Paris) -  ‘Russian reactionary modernism: Re-enchanting modernity through the spiritualisation of technology'
  • 1 March: Nick Devlin (LSE) - hybrid session - ‘Marxism as a political currency’
  • 8 March: Johnathan Leader Maynard (Kings College London) - book Launch: ‘Ideology and Mass Killing’
  • 15 March: Blake Ewing (University of Oxford) (Hertford) - ‘The Politics of Time in the Anthropocene’
  • 22 March: Eunice Goes (Richmond American University London) - ‘Ideas and Party Change: The Role of Predistribution in the Labour Party's Ideological Renewal’
  • 29 March: Jonathan White (LSE) - ‘Europeanising Ideologies’
