From foraging to Pilates, and garden games to wellbeing walks: get involved with Sustainability Action Week from Monday 12 May. The week of events promotes environmental issues and action at UoN.
If you’re interested in nature, conservation and wellbeing…
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday – Forage for and make herbal teas with the Edible Campus Project.
- Wednesday – Celebrate nature, wellbeing, sustainability and the connection between them all at our Nature and Wellbeing Festival on the Downs, 11.30am – 2pm. Have a go at Pilates, carry out some nature surveys, get a health check or just chill out with some garden games.
- Wednesday – take some time for yourself and get outside to enjoy a wellbeing walk around our beautiful campuses.
- Wednesday – Get hands on with conservation at Diamond Wood, Sutton Bonington.
- Thursday – learn how to record hedgehog activity on campus and at home.
If you’re interested in sustainable research and real-world sustainability examples…
- Tuesday and Thursday - online talks on sustainable investments with Cazenove, and sustainability and social value with Vodafone.
- Wednesday – Discover the university's living laboratory for research and education in sustainable housing on a Creative Energy Homes tour.
- Friday – attend a talk on dilemmas in sustainable consumption with the Business School.
- Friday – get help with finding opportunities in sustainable careers with the Careers Team.
If you’re interested in anything and everything else sustainable…
- All week – Make a pledge of how you are going to take action and make a sustainable change.
- All week – Buy half-price bus tickets for travel on NCT, exclusively during SAW.
- Thursday - try free plant-based dishes at the Portland Building, UP.
