Are you worried about the cost of living? Here are some suggestions to help make your money go further.

Students are among the groups most likely to be affected by the cost-of-living crisis and for many of you joining the university, this may be the first time you’re experiencing financial independence.

Managing your money

Eating on a budget

  • Buy unsold fresh food at a great price with the Too Good To Go app
  • Shop at social supermarkets (like Foodprint)
  • Shop the reduced aisles at your local supermarket

Reducing energy consumption

  • Use hot water, microwaves and toasters on campus
  • Freshen up at our shower facilities across campus
  • Air dry your laundry instead of using a tumble drier
  • Make sure your washing machine and dishwasher are full before running a wash cap

  • Living in halls? Look out for free events run by our ResX team
  • Signing up to TOTUM includes a tastecard – enjoy dinner out at a discounted price
