Work for a local small to medium-sized company or charity with the Nottingham Internship Scheme.
These paid opportunities are for a minimum of four weeks starting in June.
Five reasons why internships are valuable:
- Apply your skills in a real-world environment
- Gain the vital 'soft skills' that employers are looking for, for example business communications skills and teamwork
- Increase your commercial awareness, which is understanding the business and sector you are working in
- Build connections with businesses and people in the location and sector that interests you
- Boost your CV and have work-related examples at an interview.
What roles are on offer?
The roles offered through the internship scheme will include:
- Advertising and marketing: social media and marketing intern
- Business and administration: business events and conferencing executive
- Engineering: electrical product engineer, laboratory technician
- Technology: Python developer, shiny app developer
- IT and software development: web development intern
- Media and journalism: public outreach assistant, public relations intern
Why work for a small to medium-sized company or charity?
- You are likely to have more responsibility
- You will have more visibility as you are working in a smaller company or charity and may find yourself sat next to the management team
- You may get involved in all areas of the business or charity, which will give you a great overview of different business functions
- You can make a difference by giving back to your local community.
