Primary Teachers' Reading Group for ECTs

Dr Helen Victoria Smith, in partnership with the Open University (OU) and UK Literacy Association (UKLA), is inviting Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) (new teachers in 2021/22 and 2020/21 Newly Qualified Teachers - NQTs), to join a Primary Reading Group.

These CPD sessions will develop evidence-informed practice, widening your knowledge of stunning literature and other texts written for children, enriching Reading for Pleasure pedagogy and documenting the impact of your work on children as readers.  It's great way to support your professional development and make a difference to the children you teach!

There will be a group launch on 23 September followed by five sessions:

• 14 October
• 18 November
• 13 January
• 3 March
• 5 May

Time: 4.30-6pm (approx.)

The sessions will initially take place on Microsoft Teams, with hopefully some sessions at the University of Nottingham.
