Internationalisation of higher education in challenging times

A School of Education event hosted by the Centre for International Education Research (CIER)

This event brings together leading scholars in the School of Education specialising in internationalisation of higher education, and externally invited speakers, to discuss the opportunities and challenges for internationalisation of higher education in current challenging times. The challenges include for example, ongoing wars in some regions, global economic crisis, rising nationalism, refugees and migration, climate change, rise of AI, to name a few.

Through featured presentations, as well as panel discussions, the event aims to reconceptualise what internationalisation of higher education means and entails in contexts of those intersecting challenges. The hope is that through this event we will come up with possible new ways of internationalisation of higher education, informing practices at the University of Nottingham and more broadly.
