This free, face-to-face, CPD event is open to all staff working in our primary and secondary ITE partnership schools.

Creating Schools where Every Child feels they Belong

This event is dedicated to exploring what makes a school a place where children and young people feel like they belong. We are all aware that too many children are struggling in silence, feeling invisible in their own schools. Some disengage from learning, while others stop attending altogether, not because they don’t want to learn, but because they don’t feel like they belong.

The conference will help us understand how we might create inclusive school cultures where no child feels excluded or unseen.

Event Highlights

• Children and Young People’s Perspectives (5pm – 6.30pm): Hear directly from the voices that matter most - our children and young people. They will share their personal reflections and insights on what makes them feel they belong, as well as the barriers that make them feel excluded

• Networking & Refreshments (6.30pm – 7pm): This will be an opportunity to connect with fellow teachers and leaders, exchange ideas, and build collaborations that extend beyond the conference

Earlier in the day, a meeting of senior educational leaders and experts will have taken place to start the development of a Schools of Belonging Pledge. Participation at this event will provide a unique opportunity to contribute to and refine this pledge and promote meaningful change in schools. By joining us, you will play a crucial role in shaping actions that foster an inclusive school culture for every child.
