Viva congratulations

Congratulators to Assistant Professors  Dr Lesley Hagger-Vaughan and Dr Phil Taylor on the successful defences of their doctoral theses.

Lesley teaches on the PGCE Modern Languages course and coordinates an ITE Learning Technologies special interest group. She has published articles and reports in the field of languages education. Her research interests include:

  • modern languages education policy
  • curriculum and assessment
  • the teaching and learning of German
  • the use of technology to support language learning

Phil is course leader for the MA Educational Leadership and Management (by distance learning) course. His main educational research and practice interests are:

  • complexity thinking, self-determined learning and heutagogy
  • participatory, collaborative and practice-based inquiry
  • teacher personal and professional growth, agency, development and learning
  • school and organisational development and improvement
  • educational leadership, management and governance for positive learning cultures
  • ICT as a tool for thinking, learning and development
