'Inadequate' DfE Covid guidance contributing to 'crisis in school leadership'

The Covid-19 pandemic brought new demands and pressures on school leaders everywhere. Research by Professors Toby Greany and Pat Thomson (University of Nottingham) and Dr Nick Martindale (University of Oxford) was carried out in partnership with the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) and the Association of Schools and College Leaders (ASCL) to assess how school leaders are coping.

Published today, a second blog post on leaders, support and trust, introduces headline findings from a survey of almost 1500 school leaders, carried out in summer 2021. The first blog post, released on 6 July, focussed on school leaders' experiences.

Please visit the school leaders's work and wellbeing research website to read the blog posts and subscribe for further updates as new research findings and a survey report will be released there.
