Faculty awards for school staff

The FOSSCARS - Faculty of Social Sciences awards for administrative staff

The first FOSSCARS took place in June to celebrate the achievements and success of all the work that our administrative colleagues undertake to ensure the successful running of the school. Colleagues were nominated for various categories of awards and congratulations go to the following School of Education winners:

• Catriona Hind won the 'improving the student experience' category for her involvement in the planning and delivery of science practical sessions for teacher training students
• The Education and Student Experience (ESE) operations team won the award for breaking down barriers category for providing practical and emotional support to team members struggling with health or personal issues

Faculty of Social Sciences Student Experience Awards

The inaugural Student Experience Awards for academic staff who have made a significant contribution to ESE was also held in June. 

The School of Education successfully nominated Dr Cora Lyndsay for her work developing the Nottingham Advantage Award in 'Teaching English to Refugees and Migrants in the East Midlands’ that has not only proved excellent support for refugees in Nottingham, contributing to the 'University of Sanctuary' successful bid, but also has also provided great opportunities for MA Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages students to develop their teaching skills while learning about the needs and experiences of others.
