School of Education alumnus recognised in 2025 King's Birthday Honours

Congratulations to School of Education alumnus, Dean Webster, who has received a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2025 King's Birthday Honours. The honours system recognises people who have either made achievements in public life or committed themselves to serving and helping the UK.

Dean Webster MBE graduated from the School of Education in 2009 with an MA Educational Leadership and Management. He is the founder and now head teacher of Mercia School in South Yorkshire. He received his award for services to education. Local news reports that since the school opened in 2018, it has shot to the top of league tables, with many parents welcoming its strict rules on uniform and behaviour. In 2023, it receives an 'Outstanding' Ofsted.
