Dr Yuwei Xu visits Zhubanov University in Kazakhstan

Dr Yuwei Xu was recently invited to Zhubanov University, Kazakhstan where he delivered guest lectures on inclusive and early childhood education to students, conducted master classes on academic writing for international journals to faculty staff and visited local kindergartens.

He met with a University of Nottingham alumni who studied MA Educational Leadership and Management and is currently working at Zhubanov University and also met with Zhubanov University's rector who previously studied as a student of one of our School of Education colleagues when he worked at another UK university.

Dr Xu also hosted an information session for staff and students about studying at the University of Nottingham particularly through Bolashak Scholarships.

Dr Xu said "I am very impressed that I came all the way to Kazakhstan without knowing any of the connections with Nottingham; but found out so many. We are so powerful and influential as a school of education!"

The trip will lead to further collaborations between the University of Nottingham and Zhubanov University.
