Ravinder Sheera

Home Studio for Beginner Composers

Recently with the streaming revolution, musicians around the world have more opportunity that ever to share their music. As spotify shows that the number of musicians has doubled in the past 3 years, it became obvious how there is no standard for music production equipment. My major project is a beginner home studio aimed for those who are just starting out in music production. It includes two speakers, a midi keyboard, a midi drum pad, laptop stand and a storage area that doubles up as an audio interface.

Student Biography

My name is Ravi Sheera. I am 21 years old and live in London. As a designer i enjoy CAD and rendering and the process of making an idea come to life. I am a musician in my spare time hence the music studio major project. I am looking to traverse into a career in the music industry however im sure that I will return to design and use the skills i have learnt while here at University of Nottingham!

I am open to any aspect of product design to pursue for my career; however I am particularly interested in packaging design. Although this branch of product design is maybe not as complex as others, packaging design requires careful balancing of function and form as well as other important requirements, such as sustainability, while maintaining simplicity. With current environmental and sustainability issues, alterations in the way packaging is designed and used can contribute towards saving resources and minimising issues such as landfill overflow, hence shows the importance of good packaging design. This balancing of a wide range of requirements, including engineering requirements for the inside product to be undamaged as well as aesthetics and sustainability, is why I would like to pursue a job in packaging design.
