As part of our commemoration of Black History Month, we are delighted to host the award-winning poet and essayist Momtaza Mehri for an evening reading and Q&A. Momtaza has released two critically acclaimed collections, Doing the Most with the Least (2019) and the brilliant recent Bad Diaspora Poems (2023); she is a recipient of the Outspoken Page Poetry Prize (2017) and has served as Young People's Laureate for London (2018). Join us for an inspiring and resistant evening of poetry and discussion.

This event is funded by Black History Month and the School of English, University of Nottingham.

This year’s national theme for Black History Month is ‘Saluting our sisters’ – highlighting black women’s critical role in shaping black history, culture and communities. Read more on the theme on the official Black History Month website.

All are welcome to attend this event, but please register.
