Research in the School of English

Research Centres, Expertise & Projects

The School of English has approximately 40 members of academic staff all of whom are research active. Our research collaborations are fostered via the School’s Research Centres and Institute who host regular conferences and symposia.

REF 2014

The School of English is delighted to have retained its place in the top 10 universities for research into English.

Its ranking of 9th by 'research power' is particularly pleasing, as it recognizes the strength and depth of research excellence that exists right across the School, and over an exceptionally diverse range of subjects.
