Industrial action

Message to all students in the School of English from Professor Svenja Adolphs, Head of School

You may be aware that, alongside some 60 universities across the country, the University of Nottingham will experience industrial action by some members of the University and College Union (UCU) from Thursday 22 February 2018.  As the Vice Chancellor has outlined in an open letter to students, we apologise for any disruption this may cause, and I am working with colleagues in the School of English to try to ensure that your learning experience with us remains intact, and any changes to your teaching arising from the strike are communicated to you by your module/seminar tutor or supervisor.

You will find a list of the strike days planned by UCU in the Vice Chancellor’s letter and this also includes a Q&A section with further information.  I have asked module convenors and seminar tutors to let you know if your teaching will be affected during the strike. If you do not hear from your tutor, please assume that your seminar/lecture/workshop will be unaffected.

If you do have any further queries, please contact your module tutor in the first instance.

Best wishes,

Professor Svenja Adolphs
