Long Service Award given to Professor Judith Jesch

This week the School has been celebrating the University’s presentation of a long service award to Professor Judith Jesch who joined the university twenty-five years ago. This achievement was marked at a special presentation dinner hosted by the University.

During her time at Nottingham, Judith has held many significant positions in the university including a period as Head of the School of English Studies and another as Director of the Institute of Medieval Research. She is a world-renowned scholar of Viking Studies and many of you will have seen her recent appearances on Channel 4’s Time Team and historian Michael Wood’s BBC series The Village. She is also a much valued teacher and supervisor. Most of all though, Judith is a wonderful colleague and the School is delighted to have the excuse to celebrate her career in this way.
