Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Drama and Performance

The School of English is seeking to appoint a lecturer to undertake teaching and research in Drama and Performance.   The person appointed will cover undergraduate teaching on core and optional team-taught first- and second-year modules.  The person appointed will also convene a module on ‘Riotous Performance’ for third-year students, and will co-design and co-deliver a new module on ‘British Drama Since 1990’, as well as providing specialist drama and literature option modules for third-year students in other areas of twentieth-century theatre.  Postgraduate teaching responsibilities will include helping to co-design and team-teach on a new MA module on modern theatre, as well as on distance-learning programmes. It is also expected that the successful candidate will assist with leading outreach and engagement activities with local theatres and arts organisations.

This is a fixed-term post from 16 December 2013 to 15 December 2014

Candidates should have a PhD, (or equivalent) in a relevant area of English or Drama/Performance and an ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Selection Process
Long-listed candidates will be asked to provide items of research for consideration by the School.  The interview process will include a presentation and a formal interview.
