Transport & Logistic Services

From the new 2025/26 academic year we are making some changes to the way we manage transport and logistics and event support across the institution.

Event Management and support

Key events

Graduation, Opens Days and Exams will be managed by Estates and Facilities, using an external partner.

Event support at core locations

In locations where events regularly take place (listed below) we will hold a store of furniture and equipment - such as tables, chairs and boards - that can be deployed within that building when required.

location of rooms
University Park Monica Partridge, Law & Social Sciences, ESLC, Coates, Pope, Trent, Portland, Music, Chemistry & Physics
Jubilee Campus  GSK, Business School South and Exchange Building
Sutton Bonington   The Barn & Main Building

Other events and activity

In buildings where we host smaller events and for School or Faculty led activity event support will be managed through the local Building Attendant.

As there will be less facility for us to reconfigure rooms and layouts and/or move furniture out of rooms for events we recommend that when booking locations and planning for events that careful consideration is given to the location chosen to ensure you book the most appropriate space for the requirement – in a space that closely represents what is needed.

Outside of the buildings listed above, Schools or department will be able to plan for furniture to be brought in via a third party provider – this will be managed and paid for locally.

Accessible Mini Bus Service

The Estates Transport & Logistics Team manages the University's accessible mini bus service. The service will collect students and drop them off at the location nearest to their area of activity. This service is equipped with specialist accessible vehicles and specially trained drivers to support the students using this service.

This service exists primarily to enable students with permanent or long-term disabilities, who are unable to use other forms of transport provided by the University (e.g. the Hopper Bus), to attend their academic activities (i.e. lectures, seminars, tutorials, libraries, Academic Support).

Confidential Waste

We are working on our approach and provider for the management of confidential waste and will provide more information in early 2026.
