Biographical details

Born in Spain, she married Nicolás Ballén de Guzmán and was sister-in-law of Josefa Ballén de Guzmán and Frutos Joaquín Gutíerrez. They lived in Bogotá. She and Ballén strongly supported the independence cause, which led to her being reduced to misery by the royalists. (Monsalve, 180)

Her brother-in-law, Frutos Joaquín was executed by the royalists in October 1816.
