Biographical details

Born in San Juan on 1 April 1803, she was the eldest sister of D.F. Sarmiento. Her parents educated her in manual arts and basic literacy. She worked as a seamstress and embroiderer. She married Marco Gómez on 8 November 1833. She was a member of the Sociedad de Beneficencia. She died in San Juan on 14 March 1899. (Sosa de Newton, 587)
