Biographical details

He was born in 1752, the step-brother of José Gabriel Condorcanqui. He was taken prisoner at Ceuta and kept there for 40 years. He returned to America in 1825 and wrote his memoirs, El dilatado cautiverio bajo el gobierno español de … 5o nieto del último emperador del Perú. This was published in Buenos Aires in 1826. He died in 1827. (Romero de Valle, 319)
