Article from the Nottingham Post
On 17th June GRACE, in collaboration with the Space Applications Catapult, held a workshop for students and local businesses, who have innovative ideas for using the information from navigation satellites. The aim was to help them submit those ideas to the European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC).
The East Midlands is fortunate to have a wide range of support for any company or budding entrepreneur that wants to work in the space sector. Space applications is an industry that is being promoted by the government because it has the potential to add £35 billion to the economy and create 100,000 new jobs. The ESNC is an ideal opportunity to showcase ideas in front of an international judging panel, and if successful win both cash and a tailored business support package to help transform those ideas into profitable products and services.
