IGC Funding Success

GEP Fellow Roberto Bonfatti is, together with Steven Poelhekke at VU University Amsterdam, recipient of a grant from the International Growth Centre’s Cities Programme.  The grant sponsors research on ‘Roads to Trade: the Welfare Effect of Connecting Mines Versus Cities’, a project seeking to establish whether African countries should build more transport infrastructure to export natural resources to overseas markets, or rather focus on improving internal and regional connectivity between cities.  It covers one full year of research assistance, plus additional data purchases and research related travel expenditures.  Further Details are on the project webpage
