At our University, we’re committed to creating a working environment where everyone feels heard, supported and empowered to speak up. We understand that, at times, concerns or complaints may arise in the workplace, and when they do, it’s important that there is a clear and fair way to raise and resolve them.
Our Grievance Procedure exists to help staff raise workplace concerns with confidence, knowing they will be taken seriously and handled with fairness and care. The focus is always on seeking a constructive resolution, one that supports positive working relationships, protects wellbeing, and upholds our University values of inclusivity, ambition, openness, fairness and respect.
The procedure provides a clear framework for raising concerns, and ensures they are addressed in a timely and consistent way. It also highlights the support available to staff throughout the process, and the responsibilities of managers in responding sensitively and appropriately.
This procedure is also the route for raising any dignity complaints about other staff or third parties.
We encourage all staff to read the Grievance Procedure to understand how it supports open communication, accountability and resolution across our University community.
