Research at the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IfAM) contributes significantly to manufacturing science, technology development and industrial applications across a range of sectors that include:

The Institute is home to leading multidisciplinary research centres and collaborative projects funded by UK Research Councils, European Framework programmes and industrial partners.

We conduct research at the forefront of manufacturing science and technology working in close cooperation with a number of  industrial partners and research centres worldwide.

The Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) in Manufacturing and On-Wing Technology

The UTC is a multi-disciplinary research team exploring all aspects of aerospace manufacturing, with a particular intrest in the areas of fixturing and on-wing inspection and repair robotic systems.
