Biography

I am fascinated by evolution. My lab focusses on understanding genomic and proteomic adaptation to extreme environments. This work has recently branched out into computational methods development through a fruitful interdisciplinary collaboration (physics, mathematics and life sciences). I have a wide range of skills including 'dry-lab' bioinformatic and programming skills as well as 'wet-lab' biochemistry and structural biology skills. My teaching is focused on bioinformatic training for master's students - I am heavily involved in the design and delivery of Nottingham's new MSc course in Bioinformatics.
