Are you an NHS Nurse, Midwife, Allied Health Professional, Paramedic, Health Visitor, Healthcare Scientist, Chiropractor, Pharmacy Professional, Optometrist, Osteopath, Optician, Wider Dental Team Member, Operating Department Practitioner, Non-Medical Public Health Specialty or Practitioner Psychologist?

 

As part of the ICA pathway the University of Nottingham in partnership with East Midlands Research Design Service and NIHR CLAHRC EM offer a comprehensive Clinical Academic Training Pathway for non-medical health care professionals - no matter what stage in their careers.

The Division of Rehabilitation and Ageing in the School of Medicine hosts the HEE/NIHR Clinical Scholar Silver and Gold Awards, the MA Research Methods and the Centre for Doctoral Training in Rehabilitation and Healthcare Research.

We can help you develop an application for these prestigious awards and identify training (including MRes, masters modules and Graduate School training) and mentors to support you to develop a clinical academic career/PhD fellowship application.

Working collaboratively with East Midlands Research Design Service and NIHR CLAHRC EM, we can support you in your application, match you with an academic mentor or PhD supervisor and position you for success.

 
Clinical Scholar Silver Award

For those who have completed a masters or equivalent and are looking to complete a PhD/further develop a clinical academic career. These highly competitive awards offer 48 days of protected time, training and a mentor to develop your PhD proposal.

Clinical Scholar Gold Award

To support post-doctoral individuals in applying for the HEE/NIHR ICA Clinical Lectureship scheme and becoming clinical academic research leaders in their field. Offers ≤£15,000 for development activities to support a Clinical Lectureship application. Open to any HEI/NHS across the East Midlands.
