Expertise summary

Dr Langley is a health economist specialising in the field of tobacco control. The majority of her research focuses on evaluating the impact of national-level interventions introduced to reduce smoking rates, such as the ban on smoking in public places in 2007. She has a particular interest in the impact mass media campaigns have on smoking, and has been heavily involved in the majority of the UK-based research that has taken place on this topic in recent years.

Dr Langley can talk about smoking legislation and policies (e.g. smoking bans, mass media campaign, plain tobacco packaging)  and E-cigarettes.

She has previous experience of being interviewed by the media including the The Economist in January 2015 and BBC Radio 4's You and Yours in February 2015
