Media Relations Manager for Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Registrars
My main areas of responsibility are:
I am responsible for managing media relations activities for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Science at the University of Nottingham. This includes handling media calls, writing press releases, media briefings, managing interview and expert commentary requests and wider PR/stakeholder queries. I also assist academics with media training and planning of their media strategies. I have to proactively find PR opportunities within the faculties, whether this be via comment pieces relating to breaking news or upcoming research and I am skilled at turning complex papers into media-accessible copy. I pride myself on being able to build relationships internally and externally. A big part of my role is the generation/profile raising and in protecting the university's reputation via crisis communications and my goals are focused around increasing the amount of positive media coverage nationally and internationally.
