Equipment - Syringe

Equipment - 5ml syringe (loaded to 2ml)

Syringe with needle and shealth

The standard simple push fit hub is the most common syringe connection for injections.

When a more secure connection is required (such as long term connections when disconnection would be critical) the more secure 'Luer-lok' device is available.

For increased accuracy, use the smallest syringe possible.

The exact position of the plunger has previously caused some discussion, see below for close-up views;

The insulin syringe has a different scale (100 units to 1ml) and a short fitted needle
