Our commitment to postgraduate training and support offers students creative opportunities to develop skills and attributes for research, life and work.

  • Payment of tuition fees for UK and international applicants of £4,712 per annum (indicative rate) for 2023 entry as set by UKRI (pro-rata for part-time study)
  • A maintenance grant (or stipend) for UK and international applicants of £18,622 per annum (indicative rate) for 2023 entry as set by UKRI pro-rata for part-time study).
  • Additional funding opportunities which include:
    • Research Development Fund to support primary research activities
    • Engagement Fund for placements and other professional development activity
    • Cohort Development Fund to support groups of M4C students to design training, development and research activities.

 

The AHRC-funded Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership (M4C) brings together eight leading universities across the Midlands to support the professional and personal development of the next generation of arts and humanities doctoral researchers.

The universities are the University of Birmingham, Birmingham City University, University of Warwick, Coventry University, University of Leicester, De Montfort University, Nottingham Trent University and The University of Nottingham.

Eligibility

AHRC funding is open to all UK and International students who meet the academic and residency eligibility criteria as detailed in the M4C application guidance notes.
