David Pritchard et al. awarded £400,000 by MS Society

Professor David Pritchard and Drs Cris Constantinescu and Dorothy Auer have been awarded £400,000 by the MS Society for their WIRMS trial.

WIRMS (Worms for immune regulation in MS Trial: A randomised placebo controlled phase 2 study of hookworm in relapsing remitting MS).

The project aims to determine whether infection with a small number of hookworms can lead to an improvement on the severity of MS, in terms of the number of lesions seen on MRI scans, and the number of relapses experienced.
