Mr Lok Hin Lui graduated with a first class honours Master degree in pharmacy from the University of Bath in 2013. Following successful completion of his pre-registration training in a community pharmacy, he registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council and became a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society in 2014. Mr Lui joined the Centre for Doctoral Training in Advanced Therapeutics and Nanomedicines at the University College London in September 2014.

Prior to commencing his postgraduate studies, Mr Lui conducted a 3 months research project under supervision of Dr Ian Blagbrough from the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, University of Bath on investigating 5-Amino-4-carbethoxy-1-phenyl-pyrazole as key starting materials for development of new generation of drugs. Following the joining of the CDT, Mr Lui completed his first research project in collaboration with Dr Richard Day from the Division of Medicine, University College London on encapsulation of bevacizumab within Poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) Thermally Induced Phase Separation (TIPS) microspheres. Mr Lui has also completed an industrial research project in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) during his first year as a CDT student. His PhD project is jointly supervised by Prof Ajoy Velayudhan, Dr Chris van der Walle and Prof Steve Brocchini. The aim of his PhD project is to use a variety of computational methods to mitigate protein aggregation.
